On the 30th April & 1st May 2010 twelve of the world´s best body painters will come together for an extraordinary body painting event – in the newly opened African themed hotel Lopesan Baobab Resort***** in Gran Canaria, World Art Connects 2010 is the exclusive body painting event of the year. By the spectacular pool area of the Lopesan Baobab Resort, twelve international top-class artists will paint and design their models to theme, on two consecutive days in the visitors presence.

Experience how a human body is transformed in a unique and fantastic artwork, right in front of your eyes – let yourself be enchanted by the magic of colour on pure skin! During the artists painting phase, you can join various performances on the pool stage. Learn some tricks from the professionals: get make-up tips or learn to face paint and see how your child transforms for example, into a little tiger. Amateur photographers should not miss the opportunity when professional photographers on stage will give you tips and advice for your perfect holiday photo.

Professional photographers, who are in possession of one of the limited photo tickets have the exclusive possibility to take pictures of the body painting artwork in the especially equipped photo areas.

In the evening of the two event days, an exclusive show will take place: you will be presented with a superb show program consisting of musical elements, acrobatics, music and dance. The finished body painting artworks will be presented on stage – to the audience and of course to the critical eyes of our top-class jury. Experience the African landscape and wild animals, perhaps the pyramids of Egypt or the Taj Mahal as never before – as a living and breathing artwork. Colourful and fascinating! At the end of the show the proud winner of the World Art Connects 2010 will be nominated by the jury. But your vote counts as well! Apart from the jury`s decision an audience award will also be granted and a superb prize will be raffled amongst the participating visitors.

The “World Art Connects” was first established in 2004 by the Hungarian bodypainting-artist Ferenc Hottya (1961 -2007) The idea: artists of different nations come and work together to experience that art has the power to create new relations … to let borders behind …
After Hottyas unexpected death in 2007, his friends and fellow artists resolved to pursue the idea of “World Art Connects” in his behalf.
2008 the artist Fredi Schmid organized the World Art Connects in Switzerland. In 2010 the German Bodypainters Petra & Peter Tronser will be the artistic directors of the World Art Connects in Gran Canaria.

World Art Connects 2010– just as the name implies – should and can create connections between people – far beyond national borders. Therefore, one Euro of each ticket sold for the World Art Connects will be paid as a donation to OrphanAid Africa. OrphanAid Africa was founded in 2002 and is an internationally operated organization. The object is to help orphans and vulnerable children in Ghana who need our support as a result of the joint problems of HIV/ Aids and the ever-increasing widespread rural draught.
